Renault has taken the bold step of re-inventing Twingo to rekindle the unique spirit that made the original stand out from the crowd. Twenty years after the launch of the first model, the third-generation Twingo has been revisited from A to Z. The result is a fun, ultra-manoeuvrable city car and the return of the original’s cheerful expression, all in a colourful and comprehensively personalisable package.

Dynamic performance

New Twingo features an innovative rear-engined platform that presents undeniable benefits for a city car, including a turning circle of just 4.30 meters, allowing it to turn on a sixpence, not to mention a commanding driving position which ensures a level of forward visibility amongst the very best in this class. Meanwhile, New Twingo is 10cm shorter than its predecessor, yet the interior of its cabin is 33cm longer.

The boot conceals either a normally-aspirated or a turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine. Both powerplants are fuel efficient and deliver punchy performance. Inspired by the legacies of the innovative Renault 5 Turbo and the original Twingo, New Twingo good humouredly illustrates Renault’s small car expertise

New Twingo rounds off the renewal of Renault’s small-car range. As a means to win over new customers, the stakes for the brand are as high as they were for the model’s predecessors. Putting the engine at the back is an ingenious concept, just as the original Twingo was. It is still small on the outside and big on the inside, but it now comes with a choice of two connected systems that eases driving in built-up areas on top of its peerless manoeuvrability and agility..

Small, strong and safe

New Twingo was developed jointly with Daimler and particularly careful attention was paid during its rigorous design to perceived quality and safety. The model is manufactured at the Novo Mesto plant in Slovenia which benefited from significant investment in order to meet the quality expectations of Renault and Daimler

An energising and connected interior

The seats have integrated head restraints and employ simple graphics – coloured piping in red, blue or grey – to highlight their shape and the continuity between the cushion and the backrest.
New Twingo is the only city car to offer a choice of two multimedia systems: a smart solution that includes a free navigation system based on the R & GO system connected to a smartphone, or the latest-generation in- dash R-Link Evolution® tablet which comes with an extensive catalogue of applications developed for use by motorists.

Personalisable stowage solutions

Thanks to an innovative concept known as Flexicase®, New Twingo can be equipped with a range of special stowage features depending on the different types of use to which it is to be put, from nets underneath the rear seat and rear door bins complete with bag hooks, to a console between the front seats, a removable bin at the bottom of the centre console and even a choice of glove boxes! Together, these solutions provide an additional stowage capacity of 52 litres.
